Clinical Research Trials
908-685-2481

A cancer research study, often called a clinical trial, involves people that volunteer to help doctors and researchers find better ways to prevent, treat or diagnose diseases such as cancer.

There are several types of cancer clinical trials - some test new ways to treat cancer, others test new methods of prevention, detection or diagnosis. Some clinical trials help evaluate and improve the quality of life for cancer patients

Somerset Medical Center is proud to be a clinical research affiliate of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, which enables our patients to have expanded access to the latest cancer treatments close to home.

Our treatment trials include those for:

  • Breast Cancer
  • Colon and Rectal Cancers
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Lung Cancer
  • Renal Cancer
  • Disease Registries

Clinical trials help provide critical knowledge about ways to manage cancer that could impact the lives of generations to come. Somerset Medical Center's Institutional Review Board - a multidisciplinary committee including physicians, nurses, administrators, community members, pharmacists and clergy - meet on a monthly basis to review clinical research protocols and ensure the protection of the patients.
